President’s Message Winter 2014

Despite the sleet, ice, snow, and rain; I hope that everyone’s year has gotten off to a great start. To start off the year, there have been several changes in leadership within the Columbia InfraGard Chapter. As you may have heard; Special Agent Sean Cassidy, InfraGard Coordinator, has retired and Special Agent Tab Clardy is the new coordinator for the Columbia Chapter. Tab is excited about assisting with the continued growth of our chapter.

In addition, Executive Board Vice President, Don West, has resigned to focus on other personal endeavors. Don has been a great asset to the Executive Board and will be greatly missed. Assuming the position of Vice President is Gary Elliott and our new secretary is Jim Nelson. There is now a vacancy on the Executive Board for a treasurer. If you would like to nominate an InfraGard Chapter member for the position of treasurer, please submit the name of the individual to Wanda Busbee at wanda.busbee@ic.fbi.gov NLT 15 March 2014. We will hold the election after all nominations have been received.

It is once again time to pay annual chapter dues. The dues are $35. By paying annual chapter dues, you will be exempt from paying the $10 registration fee associated with our Chapter Conferences. Moreover, these dues waive the registration fee for the Annual 2014 Techno Security and Mobile Forensics Conference to be held at the Marriott Grand Dunes Resort, Myrtle Beach, SC, June 1-4. This is a $1695 value and you will be able to attend as VIP. More information regarding registration can be found at Techno Security & Forensics Investigations Conference.

You can pay your annual chapter dues using PayPal on the Columbia Chapter’s site at http://www.southcarolinainfragard.org/

Our First conference will be held on Wednesday March 26th at the Pine Island Conference center in Columbia, SC. The topic of the March conference is “Economic Espionage and Conquering the Insider Threat.” If you have paid your annual dues, you may register for this conference by emailing Wanda Busbee at wanda.busbee@ic.fbi.gov. If you have not paid your dues, please remit the $10 registration fee for the conference via PayPal at http://infragard-columbia.org/

I am looking forward to seeing you at the March Conference.
Respectfully,
Glenn Remsen
SCIMA President
